The demand for coaching services has grown significantly in the digital age, with online coaching platforms becoming prevalent. Some now feel online coaching is a superior option to in-person coaching. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In this age of digital revolution, many educators are offering their coaching services online. Since students can attend these courses from the comforts of their home, there is a huge demand for online coaching. Some people opine that online coaching is better than in-person coaching. I do not quite agree with this view. While I do admit that online coaching is more convenient and economical, it is not as beneficial as in-person coaching for most students.
The main advantage of online coaching is that students can learn without leaving their home. During the pandemic when schools and colleges were shut down, online coaching classes were a boon for students. Although the pandemic is now behind us, the popularity of online classes continues unabated. Of course, they are cheaper and more convenient. However, they have their downsides. First, online classes suit only those students who are really enthusiastic about their studies. If a student is highly disciplined and self-motivated, they will gain immensely from online classes. However, those who need a little push and some supervision are unlikely to benefit much from attending classes online. Also, when a student attends classes online, they are unlikely to receive personal attention. Also, there is no way they can adjust the difficulty level of the class to suit their learning abilities.
On the other hand, in-person coaching has its limitations. First, it is more expensive. Second, it limits a student’s choices. They either have to attend a coaching class in their neighbourhood or travel to a distant place to enroll in a particular coaching program. Still, in-person coaching is better because the presence of a teacher in the classroom prevents students from getting distracted. Also, the teacher will ensure that the students complete their course work on time and take exams regularly. The teacher will constantly monitor their progress and push them harder to improve their performance. Needless to say, students who receive in-person coaching tend to outperform those who attend classes online in most competitive exams.
In short, online coaching is certainly beneficial and even better for those who are highly disciplined and eager to learn. However, most students need someone to monitor their progress and offer guidance whenever needed. Hence, I do not agree with the argument that online coaching is better than in-person coaching.
