The Writing Module of both Academic and General Training IELTS consists of two tasks. The first task of Academic Writing module is to write a report of at least 150 words based on visual information given in the form of a table, chart, graph or diagram. Task 2 is to write an essay of at least 250 words on any topic of general interest. It could an argument, a point of view or a problem. No specialised knowledge is required to write these essays or reports.
The first task of General Training Writing Module is to write a letter of at least 250 words. It could be a formal, informal or semi-formal letter. The second task is to write an essay of at least 250 words. Again, no specialized knowledge is required to write these letters or essays.
